STEEPLE

The steeple has stood up to much abuse over the last 138 years. Lightning struck it in 1962 and caused some damage. The Trustees are seeking someone to replace the shingles. Donations to the Steeple Fund are requested.

RESTORATION

Most of the brick work has been completed. Some painting of the brick needs to be finished. Cost: $49,000. Donations to the Restoration Fund may be made by check payable to the First Baptist Church of Fairport (memo: Restoration Fund).

One hundred bricks removed from the church have been marked and are on sale for $100. Anyone giving $100 or more will receive a reprint of the 1877 History of Monroe County, contributed by Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Morrison of Ovid, NY.

Additional projects are in the works. Press announcements will be released when contracts are signed.
